5G is considered a key technology in the context of Industry 4.0 in production. So far, however, the development of 5G applications has been the main focus of the numerous research projects. In addition, such 5G applications are not yet widespread in production. One reason for this is that fundamental questions regarding IT security and the resilience of 5G applications, especially in production, have not yet been answered. For example, it has not yet been clearly researched which attack scenarios are relevant for manufacturing companies and how the human factor must be taken into account in this special environment.
The aim of the research project is therefore to systematically record and eliminate possible attack vectors and unintentional disruptions in the use of 5G, especially in production, in order to lower hurdles for the use of 5G in companies and eliminate security concerns.
